Proof that
hell can freeze over. In the nearly 11 years since they were
introduced, this is the first time I've seen these two within two
feet of each other with no threats being made. Mainly because
Sabrina was already there and sleeping and so didn't notice
Nala's arrival.

My car as of 26
JUL 07. 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix, 240 supercharged horsepower,
power to weight of 14, 0-60 in 8.2, the 1/4 at 96mph, front
windshield sticker for $29 from leftlanedrivers.com at the time
of this writing.
I got up this
evening to find that Cies had decided to add himself to my plush
collection
Came into my
room this morning to see that Nala, herself a 15 pound lardball,
decided to be part of my plush collection. My handpaw in the
photo was necessary to get her to sit still since as soon as she
saw me, she eagerly approached me wanting attention, being the I
love people never met a stranger attention whore she is
The Pontiac was
found to be a saltball. The frame alone was corroded so badly
that I was told "If you get in a wreck with that car, it'll
fold up like a tin can." This is the 2002 Nissan Maxima SE
that replaced it today. 255 horsepower (15 more than the
Pontiac), weight to power ratio of 12.6 (Pontiac was 14.0), 0-60
in six seconds (Pontiac was 6.3), tops at over 140 (not stupid
enough to try it) and when I get to take to a legal dragstrip, it
should run in the mid-90's at around 14 seconds
27 FEB 08. The furst decent
snow my area has got this winter. About two inches. The photo is
of my front yard. To the right, you can see my pawprints where I
walked into this hollar. Because of the pond you see in the
photo, the only way in/out is to drive up 'n' over a ridge that
is up 10 degrees one way and 15 degrees the other way. I might
have made it in, but I'd be scared to death of going down that 15
degree hill getting to work the following night. Thankfully, one
of my neighbors who is neat the bottom of that hill is kind
enough to be happy to let my family park in his yard where our
cars are safe from getting hit.
28 FEB 08. I
came home this to find this scene on my bed. I got the grey one,
Sabrina, as an 8 week old in the spring of '95. She never did
like other cats even though she was raised around Sebastian and
the now deceased Sugar, preferring to avoid them. Especially
Nala, the tabby point you see here with whom she fought more
times than I can remember after my family pack moved to our
present den (Nala came with the den). What makes this proof that
hell freezes over is that Sabrina *knows* that Nala is there and
instead of hissing & running off, she went back to sleep! I
guess she's getting more mellow in her old age and realizing that
Nala no longer wants to fight her.
Very old photo
of Sugar, who died at 18 years on 12 FEB 2006. This was taken
sometime in the late 80's with a 110 camera after I got her to
lay still on her back. Posted upside down because it's looks
funnier that way as if she's flying or stuck to the ceiling (very
old carpet too, was older than I was)
Bear on a bike,
a Honda Goldwing Trike to be exact. This guy is a furry who goes
by the name Caveman and has been staying in the hotel I work at
for the past few days. You may have seen him at a furcon. He told
me that at the Furry Weekend
Atlanta '08 fursuit parade, he was walking in
front of the guy who had a Cheerio box for a head with a bunch of
bottles and caps for a tail. He's been to other furcons as well,
at least one being FWA '08. Yes, he actually does ride down the
highway like that! The head is built around a helmet with the
view out through the mouth. He has a CB on his bike and says
"I laugh my ass of at those truckers talking about me
because they don't know I can hear them!" He also has a
black bear suit that he wears during the colder parts of the
year.
Playin' with my
new camera, a General Electric G2, to make sure it works. The
background is the lobby of the hotel I work night audit at
New kitten!
When doin' my security partol on the nights of Friday 28 AUG an'
the follwin' Saturday night, I heard this kitten mewin' in the
Pigeon Forge Tennessee Community Center parkin' lot across the
street. I wasn't able to catch it, so I brought a small live
catch trap with me Sunday night an' baited it with a small can of
cat food. Marmalade, as I'll call her until a name that fits her
fursonality is chosen, proved to be too light to set the trap
off, but the second time I went to check the trap, she was nearby
an' did let me get close enough to grab her. She was scared,
hissin' an' spittin, but within an hour, she was lettin' me hold
her without a struggle. As soon as my relief gets here in the
mornin', I'll borrow her car to carry him home (I'm afraid that
strappin' the trap to my motorcycle 'll be too scary for her),
come back to get my bike, go home an' carry him in my car to the
vet to be checked out. She seems to be in good health. Her coat's
in good shape an' she's not terribly skinny. I have considered
the possibility that she may belong to someone an' happened to
get away from them at the Community Center. I will be askin' the
Center if I can put up some flyers advertisin' a lost kitten that
has been found as well as what else I can do to find if she has
an owner. If she has no owner, NEW KITTY!!!!
The Vietnam War Dead Travelling
Memorial Wall. It was in my hometown of Sevierville, TN for Labor
Day '08 and so I had to see it. You can see a short video of a
